Motherhood is all about those little (and big) milestones.
My motherhood journey reached a major milestone this month. Along with the arrival of my son’s 2nd birthday, came a goodbye.
For over a year now, I have been a mother to 2 children under 2 years old. But now those days are over.
As crazy as it sounds (and I know it sounds crazy!) I will miss the 2 under 2 days.
Why Will I Miss Having 2 Under 2?
You don’t feel like going to that out-of-state wedding for someone you barely know? Oh hey, I have 2 under 2 and can’t find a babysitter. Sorry.
You don’t want to go to the latest action movie/horror movie in the theater? Just tell your husband/date that “with 2 under 2, and a fussy, teething baby, it makes more sense to wait until the movie is out on video.”
My Chunky Monkey around 6 months old
I’m not saying older kids aren’t cute, but there is something special about the cuteness of babies.
Don’t miss out on opportunities to make memories with your family because you think your children are too young.
As an added bonus, why not save a little money in the process?
What I Won’t Miss About Having 2 Under 2
Survival mode, sleep deprivation, breastfeeding while chasing after an overactive 1-year-old, two babies in diapers. You get the point.
As my kids get older, life passes in less of a blur, and the fog of new motherhood is finally starting to lift.
I am ready to embrace this next phase of motherhood, which for me is being the mom of two toddlers.
What I’m Looking Forward to Most
My 2-year old helping daddy out with his latest project: extending the steps to our backyard deck.
I will never forget my time as a 2 under 2 mom. It was hard, but so worth it.
