1.Oball Rainstick Rattle
I highly recommend all Oball products. Oball toys are particularly beneficial for infants, because they are one of the first toys that babies can grasp with their tiny hands, which promotes motor development. Both my son and daughter loved playing with an Oball rattle, similar to this one.
2. Fisher-Price Bright Beginnings Activity Walker
When my son was 9 months old, he started to pull himself to a standing position using this Activity Walker. Even now, at 17 months old, he will push this walker around the house. The knobs and bright colors promote motor development, while keeping your child entertained. Highly recommended!
3. Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Smart Stages Puppy
Your child will adore this puppy! The Laugh and Learn Smart Stages Puppy is touch-activated, and is full of songs and phrases to delight your child, while also promoting learning. My son’s favorite song from this puppy is the “Itsy Bitsy Spider.” The Puppy also teaches body parts and colors.
4. Lamaze Play and Grow Freddie the Firefly
My 6 month old daughter loves this toy. The wings make crinkle noises when she touches them, and it has a red teether attachment that soothes her gums. Freddie can also be attached to a car seat handle to keep baby entertained on long car rides.
5. Mega Bloks
Mega Bloks are a must if you have a toddler! My son received Mega Bloks on his 1st birthday, and now he is constantly building his block creations. (Slight disclaimer: you will probably have Mega Bloks all over your house, if your toddler is anything like mine. At least if you accidently step on a Mega Blok, it is not as painful as stepping on a Lego.) Great toy for motor skills and an awesome precursor to Legos.
6. Fisher-Price Rock-a-Stack Wedge Package Toy
This is a classic stacking toy, but a must for all toddlers. My son loves collecting the rings and stacking them (though not always in the correct order). This toy is great for motor skill development.
7. Sophie La Girafe
Sophie is simply the best teething toy around. From 7-12 months, Sophie was never far from my teething son. Sophie is a diaper bag must if you have a teething child.
8. Fisher-Price Rattle and Rock Musical Toy Bundle
These rattles are great toys for infants because the soft end is safe for chewing, and the handles are easy for tiny hands to grasp. Both my son and daughter enjoy playing with these rattles. I recommend keeping one rattle in your diaper bag and one at home. The tambourine mirror is fun for babies who like looking at their reflections.
9. Play Right Music Player
My son loves the Play Right Music Player. He carries this toy radio around from room-to-room, playing his songs. (Make sure to have extra batteries handy, because if your child is anything like mine, he will play his radio again and again, until the batteries go out.)
